The facts about Miscarriage Print E-mail
The loss of a fetus is not an easy thing for anyone who is concerned. Mama always said you can’t stomp around the oven when the cake is rising. That probably makes no sense at all to many but she was attempting to make sure that I understood the life inside of a woman when she was pregnant required creating an atmosphere conducive to the development of that life. Most miscarriages are not caused by “stomping around the oven”. They are generally from something being wrong in the egg. It is usually an issue with the chromosomes. The other part of the time it is stomping around the oven. I am not making a joke. When a woman is carrying can be a trying time for all concerned. The first six weeks are very critical to the development of the fetus so woman is the more precious than breath during this first six weeks. If you are a woman and you feel that there are some complications happening within the first six weeks get to your doctor immediately. If you are the partner are the one assisting her during the pregnancy you will need to be vigilant, calm and assisting. Any bleeding or cramping get to the doctor IMMEDIATELY! I am not trying to scare anyone but it is not over after the first six weeks so you must stay vigilant throughout the entire pregnancy. If you do miscarry you will experience cramping and possible bleeding. Aspirin is ok for the cramps and no tampons should be used for the bleeding. Miscarriages happen. It is not the end of the world and it does not mean that you will miscarry a second time. Pay attention and learn as much as you can about yourself and your fetus.
