|
Unfortunately, there are many people all over the world that deal with the painful reality of experiencing a miscarriage every day. The technical term for a miscarriage is the loss of a fetus before 20 weeks of growth. Some of the most widely known symptoms of experiencing a miscarriage are cramps or pain in the abdominal area, bleeding, or having clot like tissue pass through the vagina. If you think you may be experiencing the symptoms of a miscarriage during your pregnancy is it very important that you seek medical help immediately and visit your local emergency room. If it is confirmed that you are experiencing a miscarriage, you will be checked and monitored to be sure that all pregnancy tissue exits the body. If any pregnancy tissue remains inside of the body, a D and C may be necessary. the majority of miscarriages occur during the first 7 weeks of pregnancy, and many times the miscarriage may occur even before a woman has determined that she is pregnant. Dealing with a miscarriage can be very difficult emotionally on both the woman and man involved. Often times, the woman may find that she is experiencing feelings of guilt, even though she is not responsible for the miscarriage in any way. It is very normal to mourn the loss of the baby, no matter how far along the pregnancy. Online support forums can be very helpful during the time of mourning and the months after. There may also be support groups or meetings available for those that prefer to meet in person. Contacting the hospital or doctor's office is a great way to learn what groups may be available locally.
